Lisa began CrossFit on April Fools Day of 2018, no joke, but her reason for joining was a bit different than why a lot of us started. Usually it’s the desire to get in shape or have a consistent exercise routine, but Lisa was in it more for the mental release. She had a close friend, who’s life was greatly impacted by CrossFit, that unfortunately passed away. One day when her friend Lisa R. mentioned that CrossFit helped her clear her mind she couldn’t think of a better way to remember her friend and lift her spirits at the same time.
We’re finally getting back into the gym after quite a few months stuck at home, but Lisa wasn’t taking that time off. With 3 boys at home she’s always running around playing sports in the backyard as it is, but she also used them to help keep her on track with the at home WODs. Kids have all kinds of energy, so Lisa turned the workouts into a family affair each night to keep her motivated to do them. This also let her show her boys that Moms are strong too!!
Now that barbells are in use again Lisa is very excited to get back to deadlifting! She’s also excited to have the coaches back around to watch her and push her, but mostly the deadlifts. Having the gym opened back up does mean that Lisa will be back to joining her 5am, and is very excited to be working out with her crew again!
