Janece began CrossFit at Innerdrive back in November of 2018, with her husband Max, when several of their friends were having positive results. Over her time at Innerdrive she has found that fitness has helped her in several aspects. It gives her some “me time” and charges her body both physically and mentally, so that she can have the energy and focus to take care of others. Currently it’s those same things she gets out of exercising that are helping her through this very different situation we are all in. There’s always a benefit to find in something new, and Janece has increased the dumbbell weight she is using in workouts! She’s even starting to enjoy burpees (slightly paraphrasing, but enjoy was the general gist).
Janece has been able to stay very consist with her daily home WODs, only taking off Easter. She has even started working in ROMWOD and extra work on her push ups a couple times a week, thanks to the spare time at home, to get extra ready for Murph. I find her level of motivation for these things extremely impressive! She attributes this to having her workout buddy, and husband, at home with her. Along with still seeing all of her fellow Innerdrive athletes putting scores up on the leader board each day to chase so her 5am crew doesn’t get a jump on her. A while back Janece had to have a pretty intensive surgery, and just before the “stay at home” order she was reaching her old personal bests and doesn’t want to fall behind on that progress.
