It took Erika a while to finally bite the bullet and join us at Innerdrive last August, but after being invited to Polly’s WOD she was hooked. Before we had to put a hold on classes Erika was consistent at the 6am Class, and she continues to keep that early morning workout schedule even while at home. It helps her feel like she has some kind of consistent routine and schedule to get her day started in the morning. When there’s no where to really go during the day it’s hard to get motivated to do much early in the morning, but Erika keeps focus on what her fitness goals are and continues to work toward them.
Since being out of the gym most of us have been forced to be away from a barbell, but we’ve all become very well acquainted with our bells, both the dumb and kettle varieties. Hopefully this has had us all follow suit with Erika and start to really enjoy all kinds of movements, like snatches and even thrusters, with them just like her. Erika has also been doing everything she can during this time to stay active throughout the day doing some house renovation, and getting outside walks and bike rides. She has also taken up cooking more to be more comfortable cooking healthy meals so that she can start trying her hand at meal prepping.
Erika has been making the most of her time while at home and is extremely appreciative of all the things her Innerdrive Community has done with staying in contact to push each other in the workouts, but she can’t wait to be back in the gym to see everyone again!
