Aaron began CrossFit a little over a year ago, in the spring of 2019, when his wife Michelle loving drug him along to a class. He was hooked right when he got done because it made him realize he was not in as good of shape as he thought from working out at home. Lots of yard work, taking care of acreage, and cutting trees at home still keeps him moving around plenty on top of coming to the gym now too. Aaron also spends time with an Explorer Scouts troop, and staying in shape allows him to participate in their training also.
It’s still pretty recently that we’ve gotten back in the gym so all the usual movements we’re finally getting to do feel like new again to Aaron, but he made sure to let me know that he also gave a new pizza brand a try so he is giving actual new things a try too (he did not tell me what kind, or if it was good so you’ll have to check with him). He is happy to get back to barbell work though, especially cycling it, but is still looking forward to getting back on the ropes when we can again.
Attempting to get the workouts done at home is always a big test of commitment and motivation, but Aaron had his wife to join him everyday. It turned into a routine of them setting everything up and knocking out the workout of the day together. Now back in the gym it’s the evening crew that he is a part of, and pushing to get back to, and continue to work past, where he was before.
